Nonproductive: The Movie
The idea for this film first came to Rick and I in our last year of college. We had a successful radio show and some friends that were involved in video editing at another school. That was enough to get us thinking about spinning the show off into its own feature film.
The premise was simple; Nonproductive was a comedy show that featured a wide variety of sketches, so why not make a feature film comprised of similar short subjects - mock commercials, public service announcements, and comedy bits.
In philosophy it was very similar to famous cult films like "Amazon Women on the Moon" or "The Kentucky Fried Movie" among others. The film is to be completed in the format of short bits connected to each other with weaker narrative threads. Our idea was to link the segments together as if Rick and I were watching a seemingly endless series of trailers before a motion picture. We were really big on theater hoping at the time.
The following is a list of shorts and segment pieces we developed for the film, and notes for their future production.
